Changi Airport Group's Chairman Lim Ming Yan on Saturday said the group is closely monitoring opportunities for airport projects in India and emphasised the need for having local partners for a win-win situation.
The group operates Singapore's Changi Airport, one of Asia's most connected international aviation hubs, which provides connectivity to around 170 cities worldwide.
Noting that India is definitely a growth market, Lim Ming Yan said, "We monitor very closely, and we are watching in fact on how we could perhaps be involved with some of these airport projects...there are many ways in which you can get involved".

Balancing welfare and development, Andhra Pradesh on Saturday presented a Budget of over Rs 3.32 lakh crore for 202627, with an estimated revenue expenditure of Rs 2.56 lakh crore and capital expenditure of nearly Rs 54,000 crore.
While presenting the Budget in the state assembly, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said the estimated revenue deficit would be around Rs 22,000 crore (1.11 per cent of the GSDP) and the fiscal deficit is pegged at nearly 76,000 crore (3.84 per cent of the GSDP).
The budget proposed Rs 51,021 crore for the BC component, while School Education gets Rs 32,308 crore.
The Budget allocated Rs 19,306 crore for Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department.

Realty firm Signature Global has formed an equal joint venture with RMZ Group to develop a mixed-use project in Gurugram, with the Bengaluru-based firm investing Rs 1,283 crore.
In a regulatory filing, Signature Global said it has formed a joint venture with RMZ to develop a mixed-use project, comprising office buildings, hotels, and retail spaces on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) in Gurugram.
Under the agreement, Signature Global and RMZ will form a 50:50 joint venture.
RMZ has committed an investment of Rs 1,283 crore to acquire a 50 per cent equity stake in the project, the filing said.
As part of the transaction, Gurugram Commercity Ltd (GCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Signature Global, and Millennia Realtors, an RMZ entity, have entered into a Securities Subscription and Purchase Agreement (SSPA).
Under the SSPA, RMZ will acquire a 50 per cent equity stake in GCL through a combination of share purchase and share subscription, for an aggregate consideration of up to Rs

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday invited citizens to actively participate in shaping the state budget 2026-27 by sharing suggestions, ideas and feedback, stressing that the government aims to make the process more inclusive, participatory and people-centric.
In a message shared on social media, the chief minister called on people from all sections of society to contribute their inputs as the state prepares its annual financial roadmap.
He emphasised that public participation is key to building a stronger, progressive and inclusive Arunachal Pradesh.
"As we prepare the Arunachal Budget 2026-27, the government of Arunachal Pradesh invites valuable suggestions, ideas, and feedback from all citizens," Khandu said in a post on X.
He urged people to be active partners in the development process.
Highlighting the importance of collective effort in governance, the chief minister added, "Let us work together to build a stronger, inclusive, and progressive Arunachal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated several projects in Assam, including a bridge on the Brahmaputra River, an IIM and a data centre for the northeastern region.
The projects, which were rolled out months ahead of Assam assembly elections, aim to boost connectivity, strengthen digital infrastructure, promote higher education and enhance public transport.
Modi reached the state on a day-long visit to inaugurate an emergency landing facility (ELF) at Moran in Dibrugarh district and launch projects worth over Rs 5,500 crore.
The first project the prime minister inaugurated in the state capital was a six-lane bridge over the Brahmaputra River. He launched the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu, built at a cost of around Rs 3,030 crore.
The six-lane extradosed Prestressed Concrete (PSC) bridge will connect Guwahati with North Guwahati and is the first extradosed bridge in the Northeast.
After the inauguration, Modi took a walk on the bridge.

Modi inaugurates Brahmaputra bridge

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has cleared the proposed International Container Transhipment Terminal in Great Nicobar Island, saying adequate safeguards had been provided in the environmental clearance (EC) conditions.
The eastern zonal bench of Kolkata, headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, passed the order on Monday while hearing the objections to the proposed terminal, township, area development and a 450 MVA gas and solar-based power plant.
Earlier, a batch of petitions challenged the clearances granted for the project, claiming violations of the Island Coastal Regulation Zone (ICRZ) notification.
This was the second round of litigation concerning the project. In April 2023, the tribunal largely upheld the EC while constituting a high-powered committee (HPC) to examine specific concerns.
